 Overview

The Wooddale Academy Executive Director oversees the strategic implementation of the mission of Wooddale Academy within a dynamic, multi-campus Pre-Kindergarten school for children and their families. The Executive Director ensures the fostering of healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development initiatives for a high-quality, Christian, Pre-K educational experience that aims to inspire students towards resilient faith, knowledge, and character. 

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, childhood development, or related fields.
  • At least ten years of ECE teaching experience and/or early childhood development experience. High-level competency in faith-based ECE and Childhood Development.
  • Previous experience in the supervision of staff in an Early Childhood educational program.
  • Demonstration of organizational management and visionary executive leadership.
  • Solid understanding of DHS Licensing, NAEYC, and Parent Aware.
  • Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church.
  • Commitment to active membership with Wooddale Church.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cast vision for the strategic implementation of Wooddale Church’s mission through the Academy.
  • Provide organizational direction to the Academy leadership team.
  • Represent the Academy at the Pastoral/Ministry-Director level.
  • Target and accomplish enrollment and staffing goals.
  • Position the Academy as a leading provider of ECE and faith development.
  • Develop ministry initiatives for Academy Families in partnership with NextGen Ministries, the Family Resource Initiative, and Pastoral Care.
  • Coordinate the fulfillment of Academy licensure, curriculum, billing, and policy requirements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the Core Knowledge Sequence Curriculum, which reflects Wooddale Academy and Wooddale Church’s values.
  • Collaborate with Academy staff and Wooddale Church to provide an exceptional Customer Service experience for Academy families.
  • Foster a strong working relationship with Facilities for work projects and maintenance needs.
  • Ensure the effective marketing of the Academy to young families in the Southwest metro area.
  • Oversee long-term financial sustainability and operational efficiency of the Academy in collaboration with Wooddale Church’s financial team and the Academy administrative team.
  • Cultivate positive and transparent working relationships with Academy leadership and staff.
  • Maintain professional development of current research and trends in ECE and comparative awareness of other local preschool programs
  • Cultivate partnership initiatives with local faith-based kindergarten and elementary schools.
  • In collaboration with the Academy leadership team, facilitate staff meetings, retreats, and planning days to foster Academy-wide team building and promote the exchange of ideas among staff.
  • Assist in consulting and shepherding parents of enrolled children as needed or requested by the Academy teaching staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • This Executive Director position reports to the Family & NextGen Pastor.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments across Wooddale to ensure communication and exchange of information.
  • This position directly oversees the Academy staff.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK & TRAVEL

This position requires the ability to work during our normal business hours, Monday through Friday, and potentially some evenings for events.  The ability to travel to all campus locations and off-site meetings is also required, on an as-needed basis. 

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

Wooddale Church offers a comprehensive benefits package for all 40+ hour full-time employees, which includes opportunities to elect Medical (30+ hour full-time), Dental, Life/AD&D, HSA, Flex, LTD, optional Vision, optional Life/AD&D, optional STD, a Health & Wellness Plan and a 403(b) retirement plan with company match and immediate vesting. Compensation for this role is $75,000 - $87,000 depending upon qualifications and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The ability to lift up to 40 pounds, repetitive bending, stretching and stooping, climbing up and down stairs, and having mobility are required to ensure the safety of children, work with children on the floor, work outdoors, and to perform light cleaning.
